PEFC Chain of Custody
PEFC chain of custody certification provides independent verified assurance that the certified forest-based material contained in a product originates from sustainably managed forests. It complements PEFC sustainable forest management certification, which ensures that forests are managed in line with challenging environmental, social and economic requirements.
PEFC chain of custody certification enables you to demonstrate your legal and sustainable sourcing of forest products to your customers. It also provides you with a variety of advantages that help the environment, people, and your bottom line, such as access to new markets and compliance with legislation.
COC is defined as the witnessed, written record of all of the individuals who maintain unbroken control over the items of evidence. It establishes the proof that the items of evidence collected at the crime is the same evidence that is being presented in a court of law. COC is the process of tracking a product from a a certified farm through the various stages of trading, manufacturing and warehousing to assure the end consumer that the claim being made on the product accurately reflects the certified content or sourcing of the product.
Malaysia Sustainable Palm Oil (MSPO)
MSPO address sustainability issues and challenges in relation to the multi-stakeholders involved in the industry, which complies with Malaysian laws and ratified international agreements. The standard describes the sustainability requirements for the production throughout the supply chain from the raw materials intil the transport to the consumer and makes it possible for smallholders to establish, maintain and improve their operational practices within a management system framework, which enables the approach towards attaining sustainable production of palm oil.
